Winter Wonderland

I asked my students to take pictures of frosty trees over Christmas vacation. Mother Nature cooperated for us this weekend.
I took all of these pictures near Alvord, Ia.

Snowy Scenes

Neighbors Joel and Marilyn have a beautiful HOME!

Joel and Marilyn's spacious wrap around porch!
Joel and Marilyn's barn makes a beautiful Christmas card!
I hadn't noticed the pattern on their silo until today! There is always more to see!

Dennis and Jackie had a tree heavily laden with snow!

In the Shadows

The assignment is to look for shadows which occur naturally, or construct shadows with the use of lights, lamps, flashlights or whatever works for you. I found that if I went heavy on the contrast, the shadows pop! Cut, crop, enhance, edit to get the most from your photos. You may find you already have pictures in your portfolio that will work for this assignment. If you duplicate and cut and crop, you may be able to use the same picture several times! Have fun. My goal is to get you to really LOOK and really SEE things in your world!!!!

You got it!!! Post 10!

Winter White

Snowflakes spill from heaven's hand,

Lovely and chaste like smooth white sand,

A veil of wonder laced in light,

Falling gently on a winter's night,

Graceful beauty raining down,

Giving magic to the lifeless ground,

Each snowflake like a shining star,

Smiling beauty that's spun afar,

'Til earth is dressed in a robe of white,

Unspoken poem the hush of night. -Linda A. Copp
