Windows to the Soul
What a dark world we would have if no windows existed.
What a boring, baren wall we would have if they had not been created.
Have you ever noticed how they reflect the sky?
Have you ever stopped to study the patterns?
Did you realize there were windows WAY up at the top?
Did someone or something live here?
Why are we all of a sudden valuing these old, old, tattered windows?

LOOK UP
Your new assignment is to LOOK UP! I would like you to post 5 photos showing me some amazing sunset pictures, and 5 photos of objects with just the sky in the background.
SKY is an amazing, all natural backdrop! PLEASE edit, enhance, colorize, do whatever you can to make these shot amazing!!!

The Sky
© Sarah Baker
The sky is an endless portrait
Floating
With several smaller pictures
Made of white cotton candy
The endless, lovely,
Sky

The sky is like a vast ocean
Where its rocking waters can both
Create and destroy
Where happiness and sadness come together as one
The destructive, yet amazing,
Sky

The sky is like a disco ball
The colorful lights wildly search for a place
To call...”Home”
The colorful, and unpredictable,
Sky

The sky is a place
A place to think and to get away
From all the drama and stress
Of LIFE

Somewhere where imagination roams,
Where murals are hidden in the clouds of cotton candy
The creative, colorful, secretive,
Sky

The sky is a world
Where I can be ME
A place where I will NEVER have to be fake
A place full of welcoming and understanding
The amazing, wonderful,
Sky

Autumn Still Life
We spent the day today arranging, rearranging and trying different angles in the attempt to get some good still life photos that say AUTUMN!
Students in my photography class realized that it takes some practice, some luck and some editing to get just the right shot! This assignment was not the most interesting to some students, while other students really enjoyed it. I told them that if they ever do become a photographer, as a business or as a hobby, or perhaps they work at a flower shop or design for magazines, etc, they may not always be given an assignment that they LOVE, but they will have to do it anyway. That is part of the photography deal! This is my first year of teaching photography AND my first year of helping with the school yearbook. Subject matter is not always interesting, fun, cooperative, pretty, young or even enjoyable, but part of the process of learning. Here a few of my attempts today!
